O presente trabalho tem como objectivos apresentar os aspectos da fonologia do Citshwa, nomeadamente, o sistema de sons da língua, os processos de modificação de sons, a sílaba e tom.
O estudo faz a descrição dos sons da língua, concretamente vogais e consoantes e os processos fonológicos que intervém na sua modificação. Faz igualmente a descrição da sílaba e do tom.
O trabalho está organizado da seguinte maneira: (1) uma breve introdução; (2) revisão da literatura; (3); metodologia usada na recolha e tratamento de dados; (4) descrição de dados e, finalmente (5) considerações finais e recomendações.

Abstract
The present work aims to present the aspects of Citshwa phonology, namely, the system of sounds of the language, processes of modification of sounds, syllable and tone.
The study describes the sounds of the language, concretely vowels and consonants and the phonological processes that intervene in its modification. It also gives the syllable and tone description.
The work is organized as follows: (1) a brief introduction; (2) literature review; (3); methodology used in the collection and processing of data; (4) description of data and finally (5) final considerations and recommendations
