Resumo

The subject of the present work is AUTOCHTHONE KNOWLEDGE AND ENVIRONMENTAL LAW IN MOZAMBIQUE: WHAT PLACE FOR INTEGRATION? We aim to study the integration of autochthone knowledge[1] in Mozambique’s environmental law. Thus, we ought to understand, first if the autochthone knowledge is indeed integrated in Mozambique’s environmental law. Secondly, we study how integration takes place and by which means the integration of the autochthone knowledge in Mozambique’s environmental law happens. Moreover, we discuss about the concept of autochthone so that the study may bring its originality on that matter. Therefore, to better pursuit those goals stated above, we utilize on one hand the bibliographical research. This helps us to understand the state of the art on our subject and to introduce us to Mozambique’s environmental law. On the other hand, we also utilize the observation method and interviews as a technique to gather the information from those concerned by our study, i.e., the autochthones and environmental experts. We come to understand that the autochtone knowledge is indeed integrated in Mozambique’s environmental law, whether willingly or not.
